Host a Tesla Supercharger on Your UK Land
ON-EV works directly with Tesla to assess, structure, and deliver Supercharger sites on qualifying UK land. If you own a site on a major route, find out where it stands.
The Opportunity
Rapid Charging Hasn't Caught Up With Demand
Battery electric cars held under 5% of the UK new car market in 2019. By June 2025, they took almost a quarter of it, and registrations are still climbing year on year.
Every one of those cars needs to charge on longer journeys. Existing motorway chargers already queue at peak times and on holiday weekends, and sites with the land, location, and grid capacity to host high-power rapid charging don't come up often.
Open Network
Tesla Superchargers are open to any EV driver, not just Tesla owners.
2030 Deadline
New petrol and diesel car sales end in the UK, and rapid charging demand keeps rising ahead of it.
Scarce Corridors
Sites with the location, size, and grid capacity Tesla needs rarely come up.
Accelerating Demand
EV registrations keep setting records, and every one needs to charge on longer routes.
How It Works
Two Ways to Host a Tesla Supercharger Site
Tesla offers two routes onto your land, depending on how much control you want to keep.
Tesla-Operated
Tesla evaluates your site to decide whether to build and run one of its own locations there. If it proceeds, Tesla owns and operates the chargers for the life of the agreement and pays you a fixed lease for the land.
- Tesla owns and funds all equipment
- You receive a fixed land lease
- Tesla handles design, build, grid connection and day-to-day running
- Your involvement ends at agreeing the lease
Best forLandowners who want a hands-off lease arrangement
Site-Owned
You buy the charging equipment outright and keep full control of pricing and branding. The site still runs on Tesla's V4 hardware and stays fully integrated into the Tesla network, including automatic routing through Tesla's Trip Planner.
- You own the equipment and keep the revenue
- Full control over pricing and branding
- Still fully integrated into Tesla's Supercharger network
- Tesla's preferred route for expanding onto independently owned land
Best forOwners who want to retain revenue and control
Where ON-EV Fits In
We work directly with Tesla on your behalf, from initial site assessment through procurement, to coordinating delivery and commissioning with Tesla's approved contractors. One point of contact for the whole process.
Why Now
The Window on This Won't Stay Open
Three reasons the timing on this matters.
Tax Relief Window
Qualifying EV charging equipment currently gets a 100% first-year capital allowance, deductible against profits in the year you buy it. That relief ends 31 March 2027 for companies, 5 April 2027 for income tax. General guidance, not tax advice.
Land Scarcity
Very few sites combine the location, size, and grid capacity Tesla needs, and most of what qualifies hasn't been approached yet.
First-Mover Advantage
The first well-located Supercharger on a corridor becomes the default stop for drivers on it. Later sites compete for a share of a habit that's already formed.
FAQ
Tesla Supercharger Site Questions
Can't find your answer? Get in touch and we'll walk you through it.
Check If Your Site QualifiesAre Tesla Superchargers open to other EVs?
Yes. Tesla opened its UK Supercharger network to non-Tesla EVs via the Tesla app, so a site isn't limited to Tesla owners. For a landowner, that means the site serves the widest possible pool of EV drivers, not one manufacturer's customers.
What kind of site does Tesla look for?
Land on or near a major route with strong passing traffic, enough space for multiple charging bays, and access to significant grid capacity. Motorway-adjacent land, retail parks, and service locations are typical candidates.
Do I have to buy the chargers myself?
Not necessarily. Under the Tesla-operated route, Tesla funds and owns the equipment and pays you rent. Under the site-owned route, you buy the equipment and keep the revenue and branding control. ON-EV will help you work out which fits your site.
How is this different from a standard EV charger installation?
This isn't a retail install. It's a commercial infrastructure project built to Tesla's own network specification, run through Tesla's procurement and commissioning process, with ON-EV managing that process on your behalf.
What does it cost to find out if my site qualifies?
Nothing. Initial site assessment and eligibility discussion with ON-EV is free, with no obligation to proceed.
